I was just curious as to what advantages and disadvantages i would find if i were to swap the heads from an ej22 to an ej25. Im concerned with swapping the heads from a 95 to 98 EGR car, to a 99 ej25 block. I keep hearing conflicting ideas about it. Some say it would be less power than a ej25, some say it would be more. And i have also been told i would need special head gaskets to do that kind of swap, but then others say i wouldnt. I have a 99 ej25 that im taking out of my 99 obw, and replacing with a ej22, but there is no knock in it, and even with a bad head gasket or two, no noticeable loss of power, and i have a ej22, that blew the bottom end, but the heads are still in good shape. I want to build the motor for a streetable car, and since i live in NY the MIL would have to be off.
