swapping EJ25D for 95 EJ22e

Featured Replies

Can i use my EJ25 Intake manifold on the ej22e? They look the same, cept the ej22 one has an extra hose barb on the manifold i dont know where it goes to.

ej25d is from 99 Legacy GT

No.

EJ25 bolts are all in a line and EJ22 bolts are offset, like chux picture shows.

well that solves that question, thanks guys! wish i would have thought to look at the gasket pictures like that.

Swap the 2.2 intake wiring, and throttle body onto the 2.5 manifold.

Hmm..... actually......99 DOHC 2.5 from a Legacy GT should actually be plug and play into a 95 Legacy.

The extra hose barb is probably for the EVAP canister, which was mounted by the air filter box on the earlier ones, and under the back of the car on the later ones. If you loop a hose between the two nipples sticking out over there it redirects the vacuum to the third nipple over by the fuel lines just like how it works on the later cars.

thats funny that you stated that, i was just reading something about that and did it. so the hose run, starts at the solenoid valve under the IM, goes thru the smaller metal line loops to the other line and that exits by the fuel lines.
