December 6, 201213 yr shut my car off last night 98 Subaru Legacy 2.2 auto, all ok this morning went to start no power, sbf links 3,4,5 all blown changed em changed fusible link still no power nothing, lights etc. any ideas?
December 6, 201213 yr Besides what you posted, what else have you tried? Any downstream fuses blown? Check ground straps. Assuming your battery is good and you have voltage after SBF 3,4,5. Do you have a wiring diagram? Check main relay. Any smell of burnt electronics? Edited December 6, 201213 yr by 89Ru
December 6, 201213 yr maybe pull all the fuses, replace the link and sbfs, then start putting fuses back in until the magic smoke comes out again?
December 6, 201213 yr I'd have to guess on rodent damage. Except if the constant power lines in the fender were shorted I would think the fuses would have blown again. Unless the wires need to be wiggled just right. Did it rain overnight?
December 6, 201213 yr Another thought just occurred to me. Did you try to jump start the car before finding the blown fuses?
December 6, 201213 yr Author welp the good news is.... after looking in the proper light the links were not blown, when i got out of the car i accidently hit the idiot switch (parking lights) drew the batt down to NOTHING quick jump back on the road again, thnx everyone
December 6, 201213 yr You should really use a battery charger to get the battery charged back up again instead of relying on the alternator to do it.
