2005 Headliner

Featured Replies

I am installing a aftermarket autodim mirror in Blu2. Looking at the wiring diagram all the connections are there in the roof, but I am not sure how to go about getting access to the plug. My gut tells me it is behind the roof light - sunroof switch. I havent looked at the FSM yet as I was just wondering if anyone has gone there before me.

Dome lights should all be switched ground so that should be a good place to get juice for the auto-dim. Only issue I can see is if the lights are on a timer module (not sure if 05 was that fancy) which would cut power to the circuit if it senses a draw. A mirror with one of the built in compass modules would need a few mA to keep the compass memory, which might not be a good thing to draw from the light circuit if its going to shut off entirely when the control module powers down.

It is a limited so it is on timer. The car had a Auto Dimm mirror as an option and the connector is there under the headliner. I am just not sure where it is located and there is no obvious way the dome lights come down, though they probably just snap in.

Thank you though.

Nipper,

I see that we're both still around!

Had the headliner out of my 04 LTD and the 07 LTD for various reasons, and as I recall you pop the overhead lens out and there were two or three screws underneath. When they're removed, the entire overhead console pulled down from the headliner.

Hope you find what you need under there. Good Luck!
