 Axles will swap. you WILL need to replace the pedal cage too. It is not designed , or reinforced for a clutch. You cannot use the automatic box. Also, you will need to look at the crossmember. I believe that is different too. It's far harder than you think to switch to a manual tranny.

Man  33000 miles in 2.5 years!  That's a crap load of miles! Do you have another car?  I hate to see these vintage Subys used as daily drivers. Please take care of it, so few left in pristine condition and high mileage is harder on cars this old.

where do you find axles? i was thinking when mine go out to just have them remanufactured locally...
