April 7, 201312 yr I picked up 2 ej22 to day one is a singal port and one is dule port, witch is ,would be bitter or witch do you all prefur.
April 7, 201312 yr it depends on how you are going to use it. dual port heads were 90 - 95. single port heads were 96 - 98. some have EGR and some do not. what are you trying to do?
April 7, 201312 yr Author I wont to put one in my off road car, maby sell the other. the singal port has the egr thing dont think I will keep it.
April 7, 201312 yr They have their ups and downs. Just speaking mechanically (they would come with different electronics, which could be interchanged), the dual-port ones have hydraulic lash adjuster, where the single port ones are solid. Most single port engines are an interference engine, but that also comes with a slight (.2, IIRC) bump in compression and power. Borla (and knockoff) headers are readily available for dual port, not almost at all for single port.
April 7, 201312 yr well the dual port is definitely non-interference. and it has HLAs, no valve adjustment. but fitment depends on the car, ECU and wire harness.

I believe the single port engines have a bit more low end torque
