Timing belt broken on 88 gl wagon interference?

Recommended Posts

What else can break when the timing belts go on these?

Are they an interference motor?

I have found a good enough one but it died and the owner thinks its the timing but has no money to fix it. It's a 88 gl 5spd spfi. I was thinking of limping it to a garage and swapping it with a 2.2 for some power. But I can't tow it. so the owner seems to think it should fire right up after a year if I can fix the timing belt. Any help would be great! thanks
