*took off the Peugeot wheels and put the stock 13" wheels back on, the good thing about the stock wheels is that they have new Pirelli tires on them...new from like 2001/2002 but still new haha the cracks scare me but there been holding air!
Nice brat. But seriously....$700 to put a 30+ year old car on the road??!! WTF is going on in California? I've never paid more than $18 tranfer fee + $20 for the tag in Georgia on any of my older cars. No smog, no inspection required either. Most people are probably thinking, 'well, you have to live in Georgia.' Very true, but we have a house in a nice neighborhood with a detached garage, and it was less than a hundred and a half.....and the taxes are less than a thousand a year. But not to get off topic, nice freakin brat.
^I ask myself that almost everyday, I think I will get it tagged in AZ because I'm not trying to deal with California DMV/smog shops/California smog nazis... But on a more USMB related note going to be swapping front axles and replacing clutch and rear main seal this 4th of July weekend, went with CarQuest axles at $62 a piece and lifetime warranty and went with a $65 LUK clutch kit!
so the california highway patrol thought i had someone sitting on lawn chairs in the bed haha,he let me go after i informed him of the legality of the jump seats and after he called his boss to make sure
went to the San Jose Flea Market and found this OEM Subaru Synthetic motor oil at $5 a quart i got it all but probably going to run it in my 1995 impreza instead of the BRAT
picked up a WIX air filter since i plan on modding the stock airbox to work with the weber 32/36 thanks to the write-up on here!
unclogged airfilter = top speed run in the brat (downhill of course )
random volvo parked next to me lol
also forgot to post that am awaiting some goodies in the mail mainly a Holley Low Pressure Fuel Regulator for the weber carb swap
and this amazing 13mm allen tool for the differential plugs to make draining /filling a whole lot easier, ran all around town trying to find a 13mm allen but no luck so ordered this
Got impatient and went out and got this today!
For $13 out the door it's a good buy and beats waiting for my $30 tool to get here
had my axle bolt/castle nut fall off yesterday, now my splines in my driver side front hub are gone, and my steering knuckle is missing a whole lot of itself and not safe at all to drive on! now i sadly have to order a new steering knuckle from subaru @ $220 but can't seem to find a front driver side hub if anyone has a spare for sale ea81 brat/gl wagon/ gl i would gladly buy that off you ! sooner the better, a few EA81' subaru's in pick n pulls but all 3 hour drives just to get there
my clutch kit arrived earlier this week
some of the pictures of my axle nut falling off, look at that front wheel
finding out my hub and steering knuckle are no good!

brat is looking good. Didn't notice that you are right next door to me. I head down to moss landing every couple weeks for either fishing or cheap fruit/veggies.
took my buddy to Santa Clara yesterday to pickup a street bike, just wish we wouldn't have gone on Labor Day=TRAFFIC!
also found some bugeye wrx front seats at my local Junkyard for $50 maybe will mod them to fit in my BRAT,but currently bolted em into my impreza!
and here is a convertible 7 series BMW lol
and the brat = King of the Hill
No updates at the moment but come Tuesday I go on 2-week vacation from my full time job , so will finally throw the weber carb on and maybe throw an accel coil on !
