July 8, 201312 yr Hey all. So here's the background, about a year ago we got a parts car for my dad's old '86 gl liftback, which is also an '86 liftback, we robbed the motor and tranny out of it for the other one, and now we have an extra ea82 sitting on our shop floor, that is in dire need of a rebuild... (you can feel the good hole hit). Any way, my brother and I think that the parts mobile should become our wheeler... that being the case we need to rebuild the engine. What I'm thinking is build the ultimate ea82, so I'm thinking run ej high performance pistons, Delta cams, etc. So please everyone leave cost aside, because I'm just looking for opinions, post what parts you would do, and why.
July 8, 201312 yr Leave cost aside? EJ. The numbers are just much better with one. Plus a lot of people will complain about the EA82, and how "it's stupid to pour money into these engines..." If you do build the ultimate EA82, and it holds up: you will be making history (and possibly money for selling specs) . Be prepared to be shot down on this idea... it always happens on here. This has some good info: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/131393-ea82t-performance-longevity-mods/?hl=%2Bea82+%2Bbuild&do=findComment&comment=1120215
July 8, 201312 yr For EJ pistons, you would need pistons from an EJ20, and then have to deal with different piston-pin dimensions.
July 8, 201312 yr Author First, get yourself a " Mr. Fusion". Two things 1. This isn't a time traveling DeLorean 2. Even if it was it would still need a internal combustion engine (or a train to push it) to get up to 88 mph... Mr. Fusion only produces power for the flux capacitor to work
July 9, 201312 yr OP started two identical threads (I assume accidentally at SUBMIT time). More active (and serious) version at: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/139389-ultimate-ea82-build/
