my 90 ea82 keeps having to much oil pressure and pops the seal on the oil filter spilling all the oil out of it. what's causing this ?

What seal is it popping?  What does your pressure gauge indicate (or do you only have an oil light)?

 

If it is really overpressure, the problem is probably in a stuck pressure relief valve in the oil pump body.  Even then, it seems unlikely that enough pressure would be built up to blow-out the oil filter.

Unless it is a Fram Filter, which my "BumbleBeast" Blows too, in that case is due to the Low placement of the Threaded hole on the Filter, which only allows to grab one and a half or two turns, which is not enough to held it in place.

 

Which oil filter are you using?
