Sorry people new at this I own an 1988 Subaru Brumby ute (Australia) Simular to the brat it has a EA 81 engine and I want to do a complete rebuild I would like to know if the Brumby and Brat have the same EA 81 engine componets.

 

Yes they do.  The EA81s between the US and Australia are pretty much the same thing - emissions could be slightly different but the main bulk of parts are interchangeable.

 

Further to this have you tried out ausubi for some local knowledge?

If rebuilding your ea81 you can sub out a ej 2.0 piston to get a stronger piston in it or a ea 82 the ea81 had thick ring pistons that liked to crack between the comp rings
