engine block heater plug

Featured Replies

Since my other thread got locked by two members here.. I just wanted to say I got the plug out!

Ha.. I thought the gearwrench 14mm socket which was almost $10 was going to do the trick.. turned out that harbor freight's 14mm too it out without rounding off the hex part.

Happy it's finally out

Finally had weather cold enough to warrant using my block heater last week. Definitely going to be swapping it into my new engine lol.

lol in VA? Last week it was around 1-10 F at night however I doubt it would matter much since I live at a apartment and no outlets at all

However I've been thinking about taking a trip to Alaska near the winter, I been getting all these brochures in including the Milepost.. Still deciding... it's a looooong trip, which needs lots of planning.

We got the tail end of the Arctic blast lol, coldest days we've had here in 20 years. Tuesday morning was - 14 when I went out to clean off my wife's car at 6:15, plugged the car up, two hours later when I left it was -12. The high was 5 that day, in the negatives again Wednesday morning.

Yeah it's finally warm here, but the past few weeks have been colder than it has been in a long time. -20 at night without windchill, and below 0 during the days. And now we have no snow after 1-2" of rain yesterday lol

It was in the upper 50s with rain and yesterday, 40s and sunny today. Crazy weather we've had this winter.

I've got all my snowboarding gear in the bag ready to go. At least this year the snow started early..

Anyone know what size the heater plug is anyways? was it 27mm or 30-32?

I read on rs25.com it's a 27mm, but I've also read 32mm. There may be different revisions of the heater with different heads.

I'd guess on that one being a 27mm, frame of reference isn't great there, but it looks smaller than an axle nut(32mm)

Yeah.. now I just can't remember if I have a 27mm socket, I'm pretty sure I might since I picked up one by mistake.

Anyone know the size of the coolant hoses that go to the throttle body? Is it 1/4"?
