Bought a '78 Brat

Featured Replies

Right , I consider my old Subaru a po' mans classic too. My only point was that you wouldn't be short changed if you spent some on the body as long as it doesn't go overboard.

We here have already faced that fact that these will not be Barret-Jackson etc. auction cars.

:)

congrats on the purchase, sucks that it was worse than expected. i think we have all ben there at least once, lol.  you should fix up the brat and hot rod it. take the situation you have found and have some fun with it.

also, you should defineitely post some pics.

In the beginning I intend to (hope to) just make it road worthy so I have a 4wd errands vehicle. You should see my 1960 Datsun pickup. Now that's a hot rod/rat rod candidate.

i think that once i finish my 85 brat wrx conversion, my next project will either be getting a subaru diesel swap into a lifted baja or ferester, or getting a first gen brat and making it into a rat rod/hotrod/cruiser.just need to figure out where to find the funding for my ideas, lol.

Here are a few photos of my "clean and solid undercarriage"

The more I look at this, the more frustrated I get with myself and eBay-er ( mikesbikes35 )
