Where is the cheapest place to get parts?

Featured Replies

I live in puyallup WA and i my CV joints are screwed, and i need them replaced. Where would be the cheapest place to get them? Does anyone have any ideas?

the last time my dad and i did cvs on our suby we got a remanufactured one form Shucks, it came with a lifetime warranty and well we havn't had any problem with it yet....well a boot melted due to the catalitc converter being cloged and getting to hot. but thats fixed now;) we got one and it was about 60-70 i cant remember you have to have a core to give them though.

If your looking at halfshafts, try http://www.cvaxles.com . If you're looking for someone local, there's one heckuva following from your area... somebody ought to know.

Last I heard, cvaxles.com is about $55 each halfaxle. Not sure what shipping is, or core charges. I went with Advance on my last one, and paid double that.

BOW WOW Auto Parts has them for a decent price with lifetime warrantees. I just bought one today.

Since its your fronts that are busted, the hard part is pulling them out without destroying the bearings/threads in the spindle. You could go with the lifetime replacement ones, but I dont think that covers breakage.

BTW, I havn't tried my axle puller yet, and I still have a good Axle on the Red Wagon. :brow:

60-70 sounds good to me, I think thats what I payed for mine. Just dont get rebuilds!!! They are cheaper, but I had to replace mine twice in a year.
