May 7, 201411 yr 97 Impreza Outback, 5 speed, a rattling type noise just started, appears to be more back right, but can't be for sure, the noise seems to go away during acceleration or when clutch is in, generally heard while off of gas, is louder at higher speeds, have never heard this before and having a hard time isolating noise, any ideas would be appreciated
May 7, 201411 yr the usual underside rattle is a heat shield on the exhaust that becomes loose. Have you checked those?

May 7, 201411 yr Author I don't notice it neutral, but also don't really notice it at low speeds either, only higher speeds when off of the gas
