Looking at a 96 Impreza.Questions

Featured Replies

I am looking at a 96 Impreza at a used car lot and was wondering if there is anything perticular that I should be looking for as far as problems go.I need to get another vehicle so I can park my Brat and give it some much deserved attention. The lot wasn't open today so I only got to look at the car.It is a 2 door coupe with 5 speed and some nice looking after market wheels,AWD,with 116,000 miles. They want $3650.00.does that sound resonable.I'm used to old gen stuff, this would be my first newer Sube.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks,Dave.

Check for leaks in the engine bay and under the car, drive it and see if the clutch is any good, drive through all the gears too.

The price is pretty good. Its not super, but its not bad either. Its less than I paid for my 95 3 years ago, and the mileage isnt that bad either (mine has 125k). Check the VIN history and see if there are any issues too.

Two door coupes with manual trannies are hard to come by, especially if its in decent shape physically inside and out.
