1986 D/R carb,EGR LIGHT???????

Featured Replies

i just turned 60K on it and the EGR LIGHT came on,i know it's programed to do that.how can i RESET IT?????thanks,Bill.

Remove the drivers side kick panel (afew plastic screws) Under there should be some green and I think.... blue? connectors. There should be 3 of them total. 2 are plugged in and 1 is loose. Basically you unplug the 2 and plug whichever end fits into the one that was previously loose.

Example... blue and green are together. unplug and if the greens mate up, plug them in and leave the blue loose.

Thanks,i'll give it a try and i'll you know.Bill.

think of it as your check and inspect t-belt reminder warning light for those of us that did away with the egr :brow:

i took the kick panel off and droped the fuse box, then i found the connectors, switched them and it worked NO EGR LIGHT.so i guess i'll wait now untill it has 120K so the light will come on again.thanks for the info.Bill.

SO there is some diagnostic light that comes on every 60k miles regarding EGR?

What exactly is it telling you to check about EGR? Every other car I have owned has been jsut about maintenance free with that.

it is just a light that comes on every 60,000 miles! what you do with it is up to you as far as how much service, check your "maintenance schedule"
