August 16, 201411 yr So I am in need of a seal that goes on the inside of the hub. To keep the grease from coming out of the bearing I assume. Now on rock auto, there are about 20 different ones, and I do not know which one exactly. I assume it would be proper to replace it. Problem is that I barely know how to refer to the part. Its the one that goes on the outside of the hub. It is followed by the "curved" ring washer with the curved side facing out. Ideas?
August 16, 201411 yr National Seal numbers for the rears For 4WD inner 224015 outer 225005 For FWD SKF 22225 or National 1984 We call the piece a cone washer, Subaru calls it a "center piece axle" or some thing similar. August 17, 201411 yr Just noticed I forgot to include the FWD numbers, which is what you needed. D'OH!!!!
August 20, 201411 yr you also can get the cone washer from subaru through their pats department. I had mine shipped to me from a dealer & bought them online. I think they were about 10 bucks each though.
