October 9, 201411 yr Hi there to all. I have recently acquired a 82 Glf 1800 automatic and have a question. It has sat since 1985 and with a change of oil and a clean of the points it was up and running lovely. I have just mot'd it and all it required was a wheel cylinder too! The car runs and sounds great! The interior is A1 100% mint. The engine bay is in great condition too! It has only covered 20000 miles and has one owner. My big question is what is it worth? On howmanyleft.co.uk this appears to be the only one on the road in the UK! Surely this has to add to the appeal of it. As you can see from the pictures it is an absolute belter ! Dry stored for 30 years has certainly helped!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Alex
October 9, 201411 yr Wow, that's a beautiful find! Congrats I certainly don't have the expertise to make any sort of guess as to it's worth, so I'll be no help there. But still, great find.
October 9, 201411 yr Author I kind of thought it may be worth something or just absolutely nothing. Does anyone know what part of subaru to contact? If I had the space I would put it away for a few years.. Someone said about an up coming show that might be worth going to and put a price tag on it? I do hope it is more something than nothing though!,
October 9, 201411 yr contact Scoobidoo in Greetland - he has absolute no self control when it comes to old school stuff like this, and would be a good authority to know what it is worth for him to take it off your hands, although it may be less than what you paid for it, but I am certain he will take it off your hands, relieving you the stress of owning such a clean old low miler, affording you no more guilt, more storage space Stored since it was a three year old !! Was the fuel tank drained completely before? I had tragic event after fresh fuel inside a crusty old draind fuel tank, and seems that the nasties in the crud disolved in fresh nw fuel and reformed as a valve sticking, push rod banana maker black sticky goo on valve stems. If that car gives slightest hint of a sticky starter, flat battery - STOP and see if you can turn engine over by hand before doing anything else or serious engine damage can occur ! Then you would almost have to pay Scoobi to take it off your hands. Why does vulture come to mind right at this moment ? :)
October 9, 201411 yr Author Hi thanks for your reply Who is scoobidoo in Greenland? I can't see their name on the members list. Is that a for sale section on this site? Regards
October 10, 201411 yr Author Hi Medway is in the south east of the United Kingdom. About 30 miles from London. So anyone out there want to hazard a guess to a price I could put on it?
October 10, 201411 yr Hi Medway is in the south east of the United Kingdom. About 30 miles from London. So anyone out there want to hazard a guess to a price I could put on it? Around here I'd probably put it on that with a reserve at 6k and a buy it now of say..... 9,500 and see what happens. US dollars. That's just me though
