91 legacy code number 41 question

Featured Replies

Ok just the other day my girlfriends 91 legacy

check engine light came on its telling me code number 41

I looked it up and its telling me its an AF learning control

what exactly does that mean is my ecu no good or what

or is this another sensor that I'm just not aware of

41 Air/fuel adaptive control

I'd clear it and see if it comes back.

I did that it stays off for awhile comes back on

other times the check engine light turns itself off

So where is that part located that sending unit

So what is air fuel adaptive control?

That code keeps coming up # 41

And then it goes away

The damn check engine light can't make up its mind

If it wants to stay on or turn off

if the car has a MAF - try cleaning it?

Be careful, MAFs have some delicate wires inside.

Might want to try a vacuum gauge on the car - just to confirm there's no massive vac leak.
