I need to find out how to take out the ignition switch from my 1979 Subaru DL Wagon. 

 

If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

Remove the column cover , grind or drill out the rivet heads , or use a chisel to turn them like a nut because they ARE threaded.

 

Disconnect plugs and you're done.

 

Are you replacing the key core or the contact plate (switch) ?

    I just usually drill out the rivet heads. Its not that bad a job.
