Hey Folks,

 

I have a 97 Legacy Outback, with a brand new engine it.

 

It has a strange quirk that I'm trying to figure out.  When I'm coasting (winding the engine, injectors off) when I hit the throttle, the power sometimes comes on hard, rather than being smooth.  Its pretty noticable in like 4th gear cruising along trying to keep the same speed.

 

When it does this, I can slowly hit the throttle, nothing will happen, then all of a sudden the power comes on hard. 

 

Its has a new MAF, new TPS.  No codes are thrown, I've checked for intake leaks, can't find any.

 

Any other ideas?

would it behave the same with the cruise control?

did it do this before the engine swap?

Umm, I haven't messed around with the cruise control.

Yes, it did this before the swap.

nevermind, my TPS sensor was mis adjusted.  Easy fix!
