is it safe to pressure wash the engine in my 88 wagon provided i get no water in the dist and alt. i don't have the battery hooked up yetor can i even steam clean it.its covered with grease and out from years of neglect and lack of proper maintainance.

Cover the carb or intake too and go to town!

Two words: Castrol Superclean! Spray it down, let it sit 5 minutes, spray it again, wait 5 minutes and go. You don't even need a pressure washer, just a good garden nozzle for most crud. I do almost every engine and compartment on cars I work on. Great stuff.

What he said ^^^ works great! Follow up with some WD-40 or something to prevent surface corrosion if you care...
