MUST the driver's side camshaft pulley be removed in order to replace the water pump on an EJ22? If so, I will need to come up with a way to hold the pulley in order to loosen the pulley bolt since I already removed the timing belt. Advice?

Thank you very much!

No you do not. Just need to disconnect the bypass pipe and radiator hoses and the bolts.

Wiggle or pry to remove. Only use a metal gasket on install.  I use a little sealant to hold the gasket in place as I work it back on.
