plan to buy 2015 legacy 2.5i. The best price from local dealers is $$21199, $1200 off MSRP. I see some shared prices by others in autopriceshare are little lower than mine and not sure whether it is fair price. Is $21199 a fair price for 2015 legacy 2.5i? In addition, is 2015 legacy 2.5i free from excessive oil consumption? Thanks

 

any 2012 or newer Subaru will use excessive oil due to 0-20 oil spec. You can tighten bearing clearances that much, but you can't keep it behind the rings. Subaru says 1 quart in 1,200 miles from new.

Unless you need a car now, I would wait a bit. Oil consumption is actually a problem on a lot of new cars, not just subaru. Subaru may have changed the ring spec as 2015 owners arent reporting unusual oil consumption ..... yet.
