It misses then it doesn't - 92 legacy 2.2

Featured Replies

I have a 92 legacy (2.2 natural asperation) on which we just changed the timing belt and water pump.

Now it runs fine for a while, then starts missing, then is runs fine again. However, when it runs rough it really runs rough. I thought is was fuel, but we have good pressure and I changed out the fuel filter just to be sure. Then I was pointed at the Coolant Temperature Sensor and since it is cheap, I changed it out. We got a IAC from a junk yard, cleaned it, tested it then installed it.

All that and is still does it. Anyone have any ideas?

Is the CEL on when it's running rough?

I'd put it in the diagnostic mode and run it to see what comes up.

Try changing out the maf , with a known working one, cleaning doesn't seem to help.

Do this.  It's the two black wires under the dash.  It's not worth throwing parts at it as that may or may not accomplish anything.

You want to start with the black set to read the memory, then do the diagnostics.
