June 3, 201510 yr So before I dive into this topic, I'll start by introducing myself. My name is Ruban and I've been researching USMB posts for things like head gasket replacements, wheel bearing replacements for years and finally thought that I'd finally start an account. So anyway's I've had a few Suby's (2 Justy's and 4 Loyale's) and did the rwd conversion to most of them by cutting out the front axles but the Loyale gearbox never lasts very long. I was wondering exactly how to reinforce the gearbox buy welding it, because I just bought another Loyale 4wd and I wanna rwd!!! Gloyale stated, ''I welded my transfer gear collar right to the gear to keep maximum engagement on the teeth in my T-cased rig.......no need to use the FWD option."
