Knock Knock

Featured Replies

Replaced my knock sensor with a cheap made in china ebay knock sensor. Anyone know how to test a knock sensor? The car runs great untill the engine light comes on. Then it is slow off the line untill it picks up some speed.   1999 Forster with 20030k. only code I get is knock sensor.

You replaced the sensor and still have the code?

Did you check to see if the block area beneath the sensor is clean?

The sensor base grounds to the block, so the block needs to be clean under the sensor in order for it to ground properly.

^^^ what he said, also, some folks report that, on some engine blocks, there is a lump or boss that can compromise the sensor's wires. You have to be careful to 'clock'/route the cable the same direction as stock.

some people report they will crack if over-torqued too.
