June 24, 201510 yr Watching my obd2 scanner, not sure number of miles, but highway speeds make the CAT and O2 test go from INC to OK. Doesn't do it just driving around the city for a couple of minutes. Most of the other tests are quick. The longest one I think is the EVAP, and here's the conditions for the system to mark it complete: When you are driving under a certain set of conditions (don't rememberthe exact specs, but it's something like 15-85% fuel, under 3000 RPM,steady speed under 75, higher than 45, and the car has been warm forover 8 minutes), the ECM starts a EVAP self test - it opens the PURGEsolenoid, which starts pulling a vacuum on the system, and closes theVENT solenoid, which seals of the system. It then monitors the fuel tank pressure sensor to see if:A. there is a drop in pressureB. the drop in pressure is heldIf either of those conditions fail on two consecutive drive cycles, you will get CEL and the associated code.
June 24, 201510 yr Varies depending on how you are driving. 20-30 miles of highway has been good for mine.
June 24, 201510 yr different monitors complete with different circumstances. i think some need a certain number of cold starts? and some States will allow 1 or 2 monitors to be incomplete, perhaps depending on which ones. I'd suspect most folks would be OK after 3 days or so of driving.
