Multiple engine codes need some guidance

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, ive been trying to figure out a rather interesting mix of codes on my 91 Legacy AWD 5-speed with 185k, ive got so far code 22(knock sensor),23( maf),24(Iacv),33(vss), and 49(improper maf). I have installed and new knock sensor and cleaned the iacv already but no luck, i have tried an extra maf and it actually seemed to run worse with it on lmao. I know the vss code had been on the car before all this but it would only read when connecting the jumpers and not illuminate while operating the car. ive done some research and the next thing i wanna try is to change the coolant temp sensor but not sure where to go after that. Hopefully someone can chime in with a few ideas  :)

The car runs well other than sometimes it will almost stall after heavy acceleration and it experiences a loss of power when the CEL is on.

sounds like a wiring problem to me.

too many codes for all of them to be bad.

clear the codes and see which one comes back first.

check the wiring for burns, breaks or rodent damage,

and the connectors and pins for damage.

Reset the codes.

Double check all the wiring connections, make sure they are all tight.

Check grounds.

Then let us know
