September 13, 201510 yr I'm looking into a 91 loyale with 32" tires and 6" lift. Any advise on what to look for condition-wise on the car with a lift like that? The price is too good not to look at it. Any advice is welcome please!
September 13, 201510 yr Look for rust, prolly the biggest concern when lifting. If the main body mounting points are shot the left blocks won't be sturdy and down the trail could cause issues. Check out my Facebook page, I got some good shots of lifted GL's and Loyales. Facebook.com/adnfab
September 13, 201510 yr Please remember to check safety items like the steering before you drive it, I bought a Subaru Wagon that was lifted by someone else (the first time). It wandered a bit on the freeway while I was driving it home. I checked it later and found out that they never put the pinch bolt back in to the steering shaft u-joints
September 13, 201510 yr Author Wow. That's scary! I will be looking over the steering and suspension carefully that's for sure, thanks. Its a new England car so I kinda expect a good bit of rust but I'm hoping not something catastrophic. Its going to be a toy/project so I'm okay with a little bit of work.
September 13, 201510 yr Please post some pictures if you end up getting it. You picked the right forum too. IMO this is one of the best EA resources anywhere
September 15, 201510 yr What engine/transmission combo? With 32" tires it won't be much fun to drive if it's the stock powertrain.
September 15, 201510 yr Author I think it is all stock powertrain. Not really worried if its fun to start off it will be once its in my hands. Project/toy also I can get a scrapped outback with 2.2 and harness and ecu for pennies in town.(I think the guy would pay me to take it)
September 15, 201510 yr Author NOT that it's my plan.... Kinda like the EA82. Edited September 15, 201510 yr by Lopan
