I needed a new fob for my 06 forester

  The buttons on these are spongy....I don't' like them

Ebay is like $50...I hate to spend that much

 

I have 2 fobs for an 05GT

Anyone know if they might work? I would keep them rather than sell them with the GT if they work

If you have the fobs, why not just try to reprogram them?

cars101.com will tell you how to do this.

there is also a great post on how to clean the fob buttons .

it has a good write up and great pics.

 

basically,

remove the circuit board,

soak it in some thing,

rinse it in something,

let it dry.

 

it makes the buttons work better,

does not hurt the electronics,

and is cheaper than replacement.

 

maybe search ''clean keyfob'' or "clean key* fob*" or clean remote,

you get the idea.

 

as mentioned ,

if the 06 and 05 fobs look alike,

you can interchange them and program to your new ride.

or have them work both. (some times complicated, but maybe better than carrying 2 fobs.)

 

if they do not look the same,

they may not swap.
