Don't like asking questions that have already been answered , but I just can't remember. Is an ej22 a plug and play swap with a 1998 Forester ,which has a ej25d.

Yes...just like the ''96-'99 Legacy Outback/GT/LSi and ''98 Impreza RS......

 

.....with the '95 dual port heads.

.....'96-'98 have the single port and you'll need the exhaust header/manifold to match.
