My son has this car and we have had the carb rebuilt checked timing replaced plugs wires cap and rotor but sill it wont idle. It runs ok when accelerating but once you let off the gas it stalls.

Sounds like a vac. leak.

Ihave an 89 with a CVT, and agree vac leak. Have you changed the timing belt yet (simple job).

Also who rebuilt the carb? It took me 4 tries to get one that works.
