March 22, 201610 yr I'm contemplating purchasing an '84 Subaru GL from a private seller, it has 110,000 miles on it and very little rust. (Some one the outer body around the wheel wells, Just small patches) besides the small amounts of rust this car seems to be in great condition. I would be using it as a daily driver at least 80 miles a day, and was wondering if there was anything I should be weary about, I've done a lot of research on it and from what I have found it seems to be a very reliable car. Does anyone have anything they care to warn me about or share with me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated and if you need anymore information from me about the car before you give advice I'll be happy to try and get it for you. Edit: The seller is asking 2500, Might go down to 2250 Pictures: Edited March 22, 201610 yr by CosmicChild
March 23, 201610 yr Looks super clean there. If you keep an eye on that 3AT and the vacuum regulator, it should last a very long time. The engine will probably never fail as long as you keep fluids in it. I think the asking price is a bit high, but I'm not in that vicinity, so I don't know the market. I say, get it as cheap as possible, but a good buy otherwise. Twitch

March 23, 201610 yr It looks really nice from the pictures. I suggest checking all the usual areas for rust. I would also make sure to carefully look over the entire cooling system. Like others said ^^^^ keep the fluids full and clean. Once you get it, if you decide too, I would go over the entire car. Check out the brake system completely including the soft and hard lines. Make sure that the entire suspension system is safe including wheel bearings and tires. These are great cars. Good Luck! Edited March 23, 201610 yr by Crazyeights
