Will the dash and 5 speed tranny from a 2004 Forester work in my 2000 5 speed Forester?

Tranny might as long as the 2004 Forester uses the same 4.11 gearset, dash will fit, but electrically may not function.

 

I personally hate the 2004 HVAC controls. Those touchy twisty controls are just horrible.. The good old sliders on the 1998-2002's is much better

I know, but I'm changing a tan interior out for grey and I can get a grey 04 dash and full suspension both back doors and brand new tires for $100. I thought the tranny was still in it but it's not.

And the suspension only has 100k on it. My 98 has 200k on it

- Trans, Seats, suspension, wheels/tires, should be good.

- I don't know about the dash or Back doors - unlikely as body style changed in '03.

- I'd also wonder if the driveline/shaft will fit....but probably as I don't think the wheelbase changed (much). Use the '00  or '98. ( you refer to both years??)
