can an ea81 and drivetrain swap into generation one brat?

got a gen 1 brat with NO drivetrain and engine has been sitting in rain..sooo wondering best options..i have a 1984 gl wagon with ea81 and 4 speed thats getting the ej22 motor swap soon..soooo..any experts here know if it's an ok option? or should i just rebuild the ea71 and track down a tranny? thanks all! pardon my excitement..im searching and googling and learning as i go!

mine's a '79..he gave me tbe original ea71..but not sure its health..no transmission..so hoping the ea81 and 4 speed out of my 84 might work! thanks guys!

transmission mount and motor mount need to be adjusted and axles are shorter but the short aswer is H*!! yeh. the did it stock in 1981 Enjoy!!!

thanks! i read it..just going a different direction with it..gotta track down front struts and swapping in my ea81 from my 84 gl..thats the plan so far anyways! thanks guys!

Are those 14" wheels? If so, did you have to lift it?

 

I really like that stance. 

 

Most posts I see about 14" look more like monster trucks ha.

Sorry for the thread jack. those are Nissan rims 14 inch zero lift. search SubaRude in members rides
