Tire fitment question re: 1998 Legacy Outback wagon

Featured Replies

I just got done swapping a set of WRX struts onto my 1998 Legacy Outback wagon. It currently has a set of dry rotted 205/70-15 tires on it. Will 205/60-15's fit without any rubbing issues?

Not sure on 205/60-15 will fit. It will be tight.

What does fit is 215X70/15, which I have on my 99 OBW, also, I have a 98 OBW with 205/65/15, which fit with no rub.

I have 235/45 18" on my Legacy  no rubbing at all

^ He has WRX struts, which come w/205-55R/16 tires (@ least for the '02-'05) models.

The 205-60R/15 are almost identical height/diam.to the 205-55R/16, so they'll fit. Look Here for sizes.

BTW, you're speedo will be off. At 70mph on the speedo, you'll only be doing about 66MPH actual.
