Will forester trannny fit? Baja? Can anyone plz leave a complete list of what trannies will fit the 04 outback?

Mine went out, looking around for the best deal.

car-part.com will show 'for sure' interchange.

 

but you (and we)  also need to know the engine - 4 or 6, Manual or Automatic,  and the trim level - Limted, LL Bean, VDC, etc.

Assuming auto, in general you can use a 2001-2003 (in addition to '04) with perhaps changing a solenoid and valve in the tail section.

 

When I did a swap of an '04 LL bean 4EAT into an '03 LL bean, the interchange they used wrongly stated an '04 would swap right in to an '03.

 

Hollander actually updated their interchange manual based on my info!
