Never looked at the columns side by side, but can i put a non tilt column in place of a tilt column on my 1987 Gl? They have boat loads of non tilt columns at the junk yard. Some even with keys. Fact is my ignition switch is shot and no parts available to fix even from my local subaru dealer.

I'm kind of guessing that mechanically it would work. The electric / lighting control stuff I'd want to check
