Subaru shopping - Not going to make 300,000 after all...

Featured Replies

Greetings - Long time member looking for buying advice - I have to replace my old friend Rubie the Subie - Love this old car and was heading for 300,000 miles (made it to 287,000) but a run in with a deer on the way to work this week changed my plans...

So - Looking for a replacment, something in the 10 year old range - anything out there i should avoid??? What's going to be the most bang for my buck?

Thanks!

About a 2006-2007 Impreza or forester 2005 to 2008 will be a great vehicle within those requirements.

still expect external hg leaks as on my 05 outback. Not nasty internal leak mixing oil with coolant, it just seeps oil externally, so do hgs at next tb interval using turbo gaskets as recommended on usmb..

Yeh, anything in the 10 year old range.  LOL aside, you can't pay much because the HG's have already leaked and been poorly repaired or they are going to leak!  On the other hand, the HG repair will only cost $1500-2000 at an indy shop outside of the coasts.  Price it with that in mind.
