Sspension Issues

Featured Replies

I recently replaced 4 struts. When driving on bumps or over a pat holes still hear ratling noise. Month ago I replace 4 sway bars as well. I wonder what else could cause it or what would be the next to replace to improve suspension issues ?

Hi,

Rattling noise? Or thumps, clunks, etc?

Rattling could be heat shields, exhaust or that plastic cover that is under the engine on some Subies?

thanks but those sounds are more like a suspension or stabilization. I checked the items you listed and do not think it is any of them. I drive long enough to hear the difference although I cannot exactly say which pat of the suspension. Checked the mufler and plastic shield see no problems.

Often as simple as something loose in the spare tire area or in the storage compartments. Can also be worn loose rear bushings. If you aren't feeling anything in the drive ability or steering it's not much of an issue. Car is nearly 10 years old so a little noise is commonplace

Have you replaced the sway bar end links? That has been the most common thing I have found to cause noise when hitting bumps. If the rubber looks weathered and cracked, replace them.
