2013 impreza slow of the line

Featured Replies

I know this is normal but with the cvt trans my 2013 impreza is a dog from a stop for two seconds or so then it accelerates ok.like it's starting out in second gear if it was a normal trans. Any mods?tricks?

I find it depends on throttle position. Granted, I have only had mine for around two weeks but if I am light on the throttle it does seem sluggish.

I have also found that when I need to do things like merge into moving traffic, slapping it in manual gives me the kind of pickup I am used to.

Ok,so I just got this car and my other 2013 impreza I had was much better than this one off three line.I found they (the dealor) had 10 quarts of oil in it.

johnsons subaru in middletown ny.     i figure the mechanic forgot to drain the oil and just added 5 quarts... i drove the car 6 miles but idk how many miles the dealer put on it since the oil change. the car is certified but i want it in writing that if anything happens to the engine its their fault. they feel horrible about the mistake.

The question is could this of damaged the engine and how big of a deal should I make out if this

in theory - overfilling up near/past the 'windage tray' or w'ever, 'could' lead to oil being beat into a foam by the crank shaft - foam is not pumped as well by the oil pump.

but with a HUGE amount of overfilling....and, for such a short amount of operation....I kinda doubt there's anything to worry about.

You might consider asking for new oil filter and PCV valve - maybe even a throttle body cleaning....????

I doubt anyone could quantify any reduced utility from the car though. does the engine 'only' last 275,000 miles instead of 300,000 ? impossible to know.
