February 16, 20179 yr So I just realized I haven't done a build thread on my "Little Bit" FWD 87.5 XT GL. I've had her a little over a year now, and have done quite a bit of work on her. I got her cheap and didnt realize that the front end was twisted from a ditch incident by the previous owner. She drove straight and true with no odd tire wear. A few months later the hood latch gave up. This wiped out the hood and windshield. It also spurred me to go ahead and pull out the previous damage. Before After Now she's back on the road to a full recovery. I have a cool paint color picked, and all the stuff to do a 4x114.3 hub redrill, so i can have some nice 15" wheels and low profile tires to make it handle as good as it will look
February 16, 20179 yr Author All my pics didnt load, so here goes... 1st pic: The day I got her 2nd pic:That's how crooked the front bumper was. I used the trailer as a makeshift frame jig to pull it out. 3rd pic: The damage from the hood latch going rogue
February 22, 20179 yr Author Thought I'd toss up a couple pics of how the car sits now. I'm not gonna mess with the motor or trans, i kinda like 40mpg in a daily driver lol I'm working on a digi-dash conversion and some add on digital gauges to complete my all glass cockpit concept. I have Corvette Night Race Blue paint for it as soon as i get the weather Edited February 22, 20179 yr by crazyhorse001
February 22, 20179 yr Nice job dude. It looks like you have a few subies from the pics. The XT6 next to the trailer looks like a nice one too. I didn't know the XT had the weird steering wheel.???
February 22, 20179 yr all XT's have an odd asymmetric steering wheel design...and odd lots of other things too.
February 23, 20179 yr Author The 6 fooled me too it looks nice and solid, but the subframe mount is rotted out in the rear. I like my subies, but only have 2 drivers at the moment. The oddball stuff on the xt is why i love them
April 12, 20178 yr Author So I'm having to do headgaskets on my lil bit. Cross your fingers that my heads arent cracked like most ea82 dual ports. If they are, its ej time. Either frankenmotor or straight up ej22 swap.
