I pulled the oil pump off the motor I picked to clean it and check the screws and reader the o ring. What I am wondering is there a gasket for the whole pump or should I put a thin coat of sealer or nothing at all.

replace the o ring and front crank seal, use sealant on the pump.

Don't overdo it on the sealant.

Torque spec on the bolts  is only 4.7 ft lbs.

Gray RTV, just a very thin coat.

I always let mine cure for 24 hours after the install.
