My 92 Loyale Senior Project

So I'm in a pickle when it comes to my senior project, I am turning my Loyale into a Safari wagon. I have my sights set on a small and easy lift kit but I am having the hardest time finding wheels with a 4x140 lug pattern. Is it easier to get an adapter for 5x100 or would it be more economical to put all terrain wheel on the stock rims? Also if you have any tips on making this project easier (I know I chose a hard one) that would be great. My deadline is in April, winter set me back too far and need this done quick. And I'm not a mechanic but I learn quickly and I do have help when it comes to handy work so if I gather things now I should get be able to get things finished.

Redrilling wheels is the quick and easy answer. 

 

Also, a lift is not necessary if you are reasonable in your choices: I have 195/70/14s on my hatch with no lift, and 195/60/15s on my wagon with no lift. Not rock crawlers by any stretch, but a big improvement over the 13s, and they do what I need them to do.

Redrilled hubs are great. Redrilled wheels look like some sketchy garbage, though. If the car is rusted up beater, sure, just redrill some toyota wheels to fit the subaru hubs, but if you want your car to look presentable, don't drill the wheels.

 

I guess you could redrill the wheels and weld the unused holes closed and grind it smooth again. That wouldn't look terrible, but then it isn't quick or easy anymore.

Whereas you are certainly entitled to your opinion, most normal people don't notice mine are drilled until I point it out to them.

This is the right answer for quick and easy. If you do a quick search here, you'll find plenty of info on redrilling hubs.

 

 

Sad to say but quick wont happen in fabbing or ordering custom wheel adapters.

Your best chance is to find a set of 14 or 15 inch Peugeot rims here or elsewhere or look up redrilling the hubs to a 6x140 such as the toyota, nissan and chevy trucks from the 80s and 90s.

 

Thank you for the quick replies guys, I guess I can save some money and not do the lift since its only 2" and I don't want to stress the CVs  too much since I might be traveling far. And I like the idea of redrilling wheels simply because its easier and I can always put fake bolts or decorate the wheels to look presentable. Now does anyone know where to find some cheap accessories to make it look like a safari wagon?
