Tomorrow sat the 18th there is a auction. Hopfully I can get a responce quick . There is a 1996 impreza   That I should be able to pick up cheep. The engine I am using is from a 1993 . When I look up a interchange for a trans  it shows the 1996 all by itself . Will the trans bolt up to a 1993  engine ? Both are 2.2l   

They bolt up the wiring and other add ons may be different

Exhaust on a 96 is single port. You will need a dual port header to use the 93 engine.

Yes bolt 93 up to it and install the 96 intake manifold onto the 93 block. As mentioned You'll need a single port exhaust for the 96.

 

All 1996-2001 EJ22s are single port exhaust.
