Just bought my first Subaru, a Crosstrek.  Obviously a great reputation and my friends that have/had Subaru's love them  While I am not a car guy I am a utility guy and this checks a lot of boxes.  So far I am really digging it, except for one thing.

At the risk of public ridicule I am looking for an answer.  The radio always starts at the bottom station, not the last station I had on when I turned off the car.  I could be listening to channel 100 on Sirius; turn off the car, Sirius is on 1.  Same thing with AM and FM.  I have never had a radio behave like that.

It has to be a setting, I cannot find it and even checked the manual.  It is probably something obvious so I'll take some abuse if someone can tell me what I am doing wrong.

Thanks

I don't know that model. That does soND weird. Like maybe the always on power for the clock and memory isn't getting to the radio. More people will see tech questions for a crosstrek in the new gen forum.

That is exactly what is sounds like. On the radio there is a wire that has power all the time. And if that is not connected or it is connected visually but it is a bad connection, then every time you turn on the car, the radio acts as if it is getting power for the first time. Is this a bran new rig? If not, you could probably take it to any car stereo company and have them check it out. They would know exactly what to look for and if it is hooked up right, it may be the unit. So go somewhere where they install the Sirus system.

Well if all his presets are still there, and it's just the current station being changed to the lowest. Then a lack of, key off power wouldn't do that.

BUT if he is also losing his presets, then yes for sure it's a power issue.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I'll swing by the dealer.  The presets hold so it is probably not the power..
