May 3, 20178 yr My ea82 sohc carbed wagon project is underway. Got a nice set of heads from a fellow member here. My new ones came off spfi engine. They have no port for the original asv setup that is on the old heads. Of course I found this out after I paid for plates to be cut for the asv elimination. (cleans up engine bay alot!). The casting inside the head on the heads with the asv ports say tk6. The new non asv heads say tk12. Is this just the difference from spfi and carb?
May 3, 20178 yr I don't know. But I did take a carbed engine, swap the spfi manifold onto it, and ran it for many years without trouble. Made plates to cover the asv ports.
May 4, 20178 yr Author I thought all ea82 engines had an asv system. I don't doubt it will run wrong as the heads are identical. Maybe it is a non-emissions engine?
May 4, 20178 yr SPFI don't have asv. None of several I have owned. In CT, there is emissions. Even the CA car I have doesn't have the ASV.
May 4, 20178 yr Author Thanks Dave. Everything bolts up great. Have a carbed intake manifold all ready to go. I think I just might have to sell my new asv plates lol
