September 30, 20178 yr after solving the knock sensor issue with the last post I made, http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/164225-intermittent-loss-of-power/?do=findComment&comment=1364460, it is losing power differently this time . my wife has been driving it and it would never fault on me until one late night making a run to the store, i was driving up a fairly steep hill and going up at about 40 it held there for around 5-6 seconds and like a switch it comes alive and takes off up the hill. i kinda have an idea where to look but could use some input it also occasionally dies on start up but you fire it up again and is just fine
September 30, 20178 yr have you checked trans fluid level? ATF is the only fluid you must check while idling. any CEL? you might scan for pending codes.
September 30, 20178 yr Author Oh yes that was the first thing I checked I know it has a slow leak in the trans but the fluid was full. And the code it has thrown is the p0066 air injection voltage low
September 30, 20178 yr Air injection solenoid is that dohickie with the two hoses bolted to the front of the #1 intake runner. Might be unplugged. Power for that comes from the main relay. Check at the connector for 12v. Ground goes straight to the ECU. ECU controls opening/closing of the valve during certain RPM ranges and throttle. It should be closed at idle. If it's stuck partly open it creates a vacuum leak. Check for any other loose or split vacuum hoses and breather/PCV hoses. What kind of knock sensor did you install? The Cheapo eBay sensors sometimes cause problems. Edited September 30, 20178 yr by Fairtax4me
